I believe in multidisciplinary management of back conditions that may include a combination of the following:
An understanding of the cause(s) of pain, previous treatments are reviewed, diagnostic imaging explained and patient concerns or fears are discussed.
To improve overall function and teach self-management techniques that will enable you to maintain an active lifestyle.
Most pain improves with common medications available at the store. Long term use of neuroleptics and opioid medications are not recommended given increased risk of dependence, abuse and death.
Can be useful to identify underlying conditions and guide treatment recommendations.
Some patients can benefit from injection therapy to reduce symptoms and improve quality of life.
